About JanterManter

A citizen information portal helping Indians navigate government welfare programs

Our Mission

The Government of India and state governments launch hundreds of welfare schemes every year. Yet information about these schemes remains scattered across multiple websites, buried in dense legal-technical language, and often fails to reach ordinary citizens who need it most. JanterManter.com exists to close this gap.

We take central and state government schemes, scholarships, and fellowships and present them in clear, accessible language so that every Indian citizen can discover the benefits they are entitled to and understand exactly how to access them.

What We Cover

Our editorial focus is organised around four content pillars:

  • Government Schemes (Yojana): Central and state-level welfare programmes across agriculture, housing, health, women and child development, education, and employment
  • Scholarships: Indian and international scholarship opportunities for students at every level of education
  • Fellowships: Research fellowships, doctoral grants, and postdoctoral opportunities
  • Updates: Latest notifications, payment status, deadline alerts, and scheme-related news

Our Approach and Data Sources

All scheme information published on JanterManter is sourced from official Government of India references, primarily the MyScheme portal, Press Information Bureau (PIB) releases, and individual ministry websites.

We operate under the Government Open Data License, India (GODL-India), which permits the translation, adaptation, and republication of government-generated public data for both commercial and non-commercial purposes, with proper attribution.

What We Are Not

To avoid any confusion, we want to be explicit:

  • We are not an official representative of any government department or ministry
  • We do not provide scholarships, fellowships, or any financial assistance
  • No application can be submitted through our website. Every application must be made directly on the relevant ministry or scheme portal
  • We do not charge any fees, offer paid consultations, or accept payments of any kind from our readers

Content Standards

Every article on JanterManter is reviewed for accuracy against official sources before publication. However, government schemes frequently change: eligibility criteria get revised, benefit amounts get updated, and application deadlines shift. We urge readers to always verify current details on the official scheme portal before applying.
